BLUE
Join the Peninsula Chapter of the Womens’ Caucus for Art for the opening reception of our newest group show, BLUE,
at the Twin Pines Art Center
January 3 - January 30, 2020
OPENING RECEPTION
January 5, 2020 1-4pm
Theme: “BLUE” What does “Blue” mean to you?
Bringing people’s attention to the medium, be it whimsical, serious, instructive, political, or just plain pretty, artists will be expressing “blue”. Blue represents the sky and the sea. It comes in many values and shades—cerulean, cobalt, navy, Prussian , indigo, cyan, to name a few. It conjures up visions of the deep blue sea, baby blue, blue jeans, blue laws, blue moon, blue Monday, blue cheese, blue grass, blue-chip, blue hair, blue tooth, and in music “the blues”.
The color is characterized at times with sadness or melancholy; it has a calming effect when painted on walls; it is significant in many cultures and/or religions; and can be associated with politics.
What does it mean to you?How can you depict a feeling or mood of blue?
The exhibit is open to current 2020 paid WCA Peninsula Chapter members. For full entry details, prospectus and to submit up to 2 pieces for the show, go to ENTRYTHINGY.
